EU Accuses Suez Environnement Of Seal Breach

Law360, New York (June 4, 2010, 11:10 AM EDT) -- European antitrust regulators have launched formal proceedings against French water and waste management company Suez Environnement, alleging a seal was broken during an April inspection at a Suez Environnement subsidiary.

In a statement Friday, the European Commission said it had carried out surprise inspections at various water and wastewater management firms from April 13 through April 16, including a raid at Suez Environnement's subsidiary Lyonnaise des Eaux as part of a probe into possible anti-competitive behavior in the industry.
