SEC Hands Deerfield Capital Wells Notice

Law360, New York (June 8, 2010, 5:15 PM EDT) -- Deerfield Capital Corp., an investment firm with $8.8 billion under management, said Tuesday that it has received a Wells notice from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as part of an ongoing investigation into mortgage securities transactions.

The company, based outside Chicago, disclosed in a regulatory filing that its Deerfield Capital Management LLC subsidiary had received the notice, which signals that the SEC may bring an enforcement action.
