WaMu Equity Group Renews Call For Examiner

Law360, New York (June 8, 2010, 5:43 PM EDT) -- The official committee of equity security holders of bankrupt Washington Mutual Inc. has once again asked the bankruptcy court to appoint an examiner, arguing that the bank and creditors committee have refused to share the “fruits of their investigation” with the equity group.

The shareholders put in a renewed bid Tuesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware seeking an examiner in order to delve into the 2008 seizure and sale of the collapsed bank's assets to JPMorgan Chase & Co.
