6 Charged With Helping Iran Launch Satellite

Law360, New York (June 8, 2010, 5:44 PM EDT) -- A Maryland man and five Iranians have been charged with violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act for allegedly conspiring to provide Iran with satellite and hardware technology, the U.S. Department of Justice announced Tuesday.

The man, Nader Modanlo, 49, a naturalized U.S. citizen born in Iran, has been arrested and was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, the DOJ said. The five others, who were also indicted by a grand jury, remain at large.
