Audiobooks No Exception To First-Sale Rule: Court

Law360 (January 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- An appeals court has ruled against an audiobook publisher over claims of copyright infringement in a case that raises issues never before considered by the courts.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit found Friday that an amendment to the Copyright Act protecting the music industry from unlawful recording does not extend to audiobooks.
