Jones Day Reps Virage In $315M Synopsys Deal

Law360, New York (June 10, 2010, 2:14 PM EDT) -- Software maker Synopsys Inc. has reached a $315 million deal to acquire semiconductor intellectual property holder Virage Logic Corp., a tie-up that Synopsys says will boost its ability to provide a range of services and technologies to semiconductor makers.

Under the terms of the agreement announced Thursday, Synopsys will pay $12 cash per Virage Logic share. The boards of directors of both companies have approved the deal, which is subject to approval by Virage Logic shareholders, as well as regulatory approvals.
