Judge Switches Coal Co. Bankruptcy To Ch. 7

Law360, New York (January 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A bankruptcy judge converted a coal company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy case to a Chapter 7 proceeding at the request of the U.S. Trustee so that the distribution of sale assets could be further investigated.

U.S. Trustee W. Clarkson McDow Jr. moved for the conversion in November, and Judge Patrick M. Flatley of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of West Virginia converted the case Friday since debtor Buffalo Coal did not object.
