Effect Of Trinko, Credit Suisse Should Be Clarified: FTC

Law360, New York (June 15, 2010, 4:32 PM EDT) -- A Federal Trade Commission official told a U.S. House of Representatives panel Tuesday that the combined effect of two recent Supreme Court decisions had made it more difficult for public agencies to bring important antitrust cases against regulated industries.

The Supreme Court's recent decisions in Verizon Communications Inc. v. Law Offices of Curtis V. Trinko LLP and Credit Suisse Securities LLC v.
