La. Bans Chinese Drywall Insurance Cancellations

Law360, New York (June 15, 2010, 5:53 PM EDT) -- The Louisiana Legislature has unanimously passed a bill that would prohibit property insurance companies from canceling coverage for homes that contain Chinese drywall.

After a floor debate, the bill passed the state House of Representatives on Thursday by a vote of 95-0. It was then sent back to the state Senate, which had approved a different version in April by a vote of 38-0.
