6th Circ. Upholds $15M Contract Suit Judgment V. Dish

Law360, New York (June 18, 2010, 3:39 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has affirmed a lower court ruling that Dish Network Corp. must pay Bank One NA $15.2 million to cover a settlement of a class action against the bank over financing it provided to Dish customers.

Judge Richard Allen Griffin, writing for a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, ruled Tuesday that Dish, formerly known as EchoStar Communications Corp., had breached a 1994 contract with Bank One under which the bank provided financing for Dish's customers....
