U.S., Israel Deadlocked Over Data Exclusivity Rules

Law360, New York (July 13, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- U.S. and Israeli negotiators are in a deadlock over data exclusivity for drug registration files submitted by U.S. companies to Israel’s Ministry of Health, according to local media reports.

U.S.-Israeli trade talks in Washington, D.C. have yet to resolve long-standing disagreements over intellectual property rights issues, financial daily Globes reported.

Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor foreign trade administration deputy director-general Ronit Kan told the newspaper that the U.S. welcomed the inter-ministerial committee's conclusions on protecting ethical drug registration files in Israel.
