Erie Coke To Pay $6M For Air Quality Violations

Law360, New York (June 17, 2010, 2:01 PM EDT) -- Pennsylvania's Department of Environmental Protection said Thursday that Erie Coke Corp. had agreed to pay $6 million in fines and bring its coke facility into compliance with state and federal clean air regulations, in exchange for permission to continue operating while the improvements are made.

The consent decree, signed by DEP officials and Erie Coke CEO J.D. Crane, was filed in Pennsylvania's Commonwealth Court on Thursday.
