CIT Foils Customs' Bid To Revive UPS Customhouse Fine

Law360, New York (June 18, 2010, 1:33 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Court of International Trade has turned down a government request to reconsider the dismissal of proceedings against UPS Customhouse Brokerage Inc. over an alleged failure to properly supervise its customs business.

The court will stand by its decision to throw out the $75,000 in monetary penalties U.S. Customs and Border Protection had initially won against UPS Customhouse regarding its lack of adequate supervision and control.
