Claims Trimmed In Cancer Insurance Coverage Action

Law360, New York (June 18, 2010, 7:23 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has pared down a suit alleging American Fidelity Assurance Co. shortchanged holders of supplemental cancer policies, finding that an Oklahoma law precludes parts of the case related to insurance claims submitted after it was enacted.

Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma on Wednesday dismissed the policyholders' bad faith claims related to insurance claims filed after Nov. 1, 2006, when the state insurance law was enacted.
