'Cosmetic Changes' Won't Fix MMS, Salazar Says

Law360, New York (June 24, 2010, 2:24 PM EDT) -- Defending the Obama administration's handling of the troubled Minerals Management Service, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar told U.S. senators Thursday that the agency requires a complete overhaul, not just superficial adjustments.

“I have no interest in cosmetic changes,” Salazar told the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources during a hearing on a bill to amend the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act.
