Anadarko Lashes Out At Well Partner BP Over Spill

Law360, New York (June 18, 2010, 7:21 PM EDT) -- Anadarko Petroleum Corp., which owns a quarter of the oil well spilling into the Gulf of Mexico following the Deepwater Horizon accident, on Friday turned harshly on partner BP PLC for what it called “reckless decisions and actions” preceding the April 20 explosion.

“The mounting evidence clearly demonstrates that this tragedy was preventable,” Anadarko chairman and CEO Jim Hackett said in a statement. “BP operated unsafely and failed to monitor and react to several critical warning signs during the drilling.”
