Top Court Says Shipping Dispute Belongs In Japan

Law360, New York (June 21, 2010, 3:12 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 on Monday in favor of shipping company K Line America Inc. and Union Pacific Railroad Co. in a contract dispute with Regal-Beloit Corp. and insurance firms over cargo that was destroyed in a train derailment, saying the issue must be litigated in Japan pursuant to bills of lading.
