House Passes Extension For Flood Insurance Program

Law360, New York (June 23, 2010, 5:28 PM EDT) -- The U.S. House of Representatives has approved a short-term extension to the National Flood Insurance Program, leaving the fate of the lapsed program in the hands of the Senate.

The House vote, which took place Wednesday, was unanimous. The House passed similar legislation to extend the cash-strapped program in late May, but the Senate failed to adopt the measure before it expired for the third time this year, on June 1.
