Samsung Faces ITC Suit Over Computer Chip Methods

Law360, New York (June 23, 2010, 7:21 PM EDT) -- A nonprofit group owned by the Regents of the University of New Mexico has asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to investigate whether Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. have infringed a patent covering lithographic methods used to manufacture semiconductors.

Albuquerque, N.M.-based STC.UNM lodged its complaint with the ITC on Wednesday, alleging the two respondents have unlawfully imported infringing semiconductor devices made by advanced lithography techniques into the U.S.
