Plea Bargain In Milberg Case May Implicate Lerach

Law360, New York (February 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The latest plea bargain in the ongoing kickback case against plaintiffs firm Milberg Weiss Bershad & Schulman means more trouble for the firm and could also spell trouble for former Milberg partner William Lerach.

On Wednesday, Stephen Cooperman, who, over the course of 12 years, served as a plaintiff in several class action lawsuits filed by Milberg, pled guilty to conspiring with the firm and its partners to obstruct justice and make false statements.
