Lawmakers Mull Global Warming Policies

Law360, New York (February 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Ahead of a much-anticipated report on the long-term damage of global warming, Democratic lawmakers are weighing a new direction in America’s environmental and energy policies.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a United Nations body made up of 2,500 scientists from 130 countries, is set to publish the results of its study on Friday. The report, a scientific document, represents an agreement by 113 governments—including the United States—but recommends no actions to slow global warming.
