Pharmacy Board Retreats From Generic Opposition

Law360, New York (February 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- An Oklahoma pharmacy board that had previously questioned the $4 generic drug program of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has concluded that the initiative does not violate the state’s competition law.

On Wednesday, the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy’s executive director, Bryan Potter, revealed that after investigating the matter, the board had determined that the program did fall within the scope of the current law, according to the daily newspaper, Tulsa World.

Dr. Potter was not immediately available to independently verify the report.
