EPA Joins Fla. Agency, Sugar Cos. In Everglades Fight

Law360, New York (June 25, 2010, 11:39 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has joined two sugar companies and a Florida state agency in appealing an order that lambasted regulators for moving with “glacial slowness” when it came to protecting the Everglades from pollution.

The EPA filed a notice of appeal Thursday that will move the case, brought by Friends of the Everglades and the Miccosukee tribe, from the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
