E.U. Wants More Ambitious Cuts In U.S. Farm Bill

Law360 (February 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Calling for stronger cuts in domestic farm subsidies and less distortion of the global market, the European Commission expressed disappointment with a new farm bill the United States proposed on Wednesday.

In order to reassume the World Trade Organization’s Doha Development Round talks, the Commission said it would need to see more dramatic cuts and better spending discipline to support global farming.
