Insurers Sue Over Machinery Lost In Utah Mine Collapse

Law360, New York (June 25, 2010, 7:05 PM EDT) -- Insurers for a co-owner of a Utah mine where nine people were killed in 2007 have reportedly sued Murray Energy Corp., the other co-owner that was responsible for the mine's operations, to recoup losses from expensive machinery trapped underground as a result of the disaster.

The insurers for Intermountain Power Agency filed suit Thursday in Utah's Third District Court, The Salt Lake Tribune reported Friday. The suit claims the equipment couldn't be recovered because the mine was too dangerous, according to the newspaper.
