Pfizer, Trade Group Protest China's Overturn Of Viagra Patent

Law360, New York (July 19, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The American Chamber of Commerce has joined forces with Pfizer in protesting China’s annulment of the drug maker's patent for Viagra, questioning China’s commitment to protecting intellectual property.

The American Chamber of Commerce in China called for unspecified "corrective action" on the controversial ruling, issued earlier this month.

The decision by China's State Intellectual Property Office "will surely have an adverse impact" on foreign companies, the American Chamber of Commerce said.
