Abbott Settles Suits Over Norvir Amid Calls For Compulsory License

Law360, New York (July 19, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Abbott Laboratories has settled two lawsuits over the pricing of Norvir, the anti-HIV drug targeted for a compulsory license by activists and patient groups.

Under the terms of the settlement, Abbott will not alter the price of the drug but has agreed to fund AIDS programs for the testing, prevention and treatment of 10,000 people in the U.S. and Africa.
