Companies Feel Weight Of SEC's New Demands

Law360, New York (July 20, 2010, 5:13 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is asking for more documents and interviews in the early stages of its investigations, creating new headaches for companies struggling to comply with the agency while holding down costs, attorneys say.

“If you practice in the area, you can certainly feel and see the difference in tone and urgency,” said Paul Bessette, co-chair of Greenberg Traurig LLP's securities litigation group.
