Ex-WolfBlock Partner's Severance Suit Survives

Law360, New York (July 2, 2010, 2:11 PM EDT) -- WolfBlock LLP has failed to shake off a suit from a former equity partner who accused the now-defunct firm of refusing to continue annual payouts under a nearly $400,000 severance package, although a state judge barred the attorney from pursuing a claim for unpaid wages.

Judge Allan L. Tereshko of the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia ruled on the firm's preliminary objections Thursday, finding that Michael A. Budin was not an “employee” under state wage laws but could go forward with his breach of contract...
