AMS, Laser Peripherals Settle Patent Dispute

Law360, New York (July 8, 2010, 3:53 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has signed off on a deal that puts an end to a patent infringement suit brought by American Medical Systems Inc. against Laser Peripherals LLC over lasers used to treat enlarged prostates.

Judge Joan N. Ericksen of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota dismissed the case Wednesday pursuant to a settlement agreement that the parties reached in June.

Each side agreed to bear its own costs, though details of the settlement were not revealed.
