ADA Claims Rise In Q2 After Amendments To Law

Law360, New York (July 9, 2010, 4:44 PM EDT) -- While the number of new federal workplace discrimination lawsuits held steady in the second quarter of 2010, the number of lawsuits brought under the Americans with Disabilities Act continued to rise on the heels of congressional amendments to the law.

New employment-related civil rights lawsuit filings rose by nearly 12 percent from the first quarter of 2010 to the second, but the second quarter filings came in neck and neck when compared with the same period in 2009, according to Law360 research.
