Spain To Probe Price-Fixing By Boat Operators

Law360, New York (July 9, 2010, 2:31 PM EDT) -- Spanish officials have opened a probe into possible price-fixing among several cruise and shipping lines in the Iberian Peninsula, Spain's antitrust regulator announced Friday.

The National Competition Commission said it had initiated disciplinary proceedings against three companies: Balearia Eurolíneas Maritimas SA, Compañía Trasmediterránea SA and Isleña Marítima de Contenedores SA.

The maritime companies run passenger and cargo vessels between Spain's mainland and the islands dotting the coast.
