Antitrust Litigation Still Down, But Leveling In Mid-2010

Law360, New York (July 9, 2010, 6:50 PM EDT) -- Antitrust litigation is still down from a spike in 2008, but courts saw a slight uptick in new filings in the second quarter of 2010 as lawyers adapted to new pleading standards, and attorneys expect the coming months to bring increased activity in the agricultural and pharmaceutical sectors.

A Law360 analysis of federal court cases has found that 131 antitrust suits were launched in the second quarter of 2010 — an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous quarter, when the number stood at 123....
