State Claims Declined In Waste Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (July 15, 2010, 6:06 PM EDT) -- Following a federal appeals court finding that Florida's Hillsborough County is exempt from federal antitrust claims, a district court has decided not to take up the remaining state claims in an action two companies brought against the county over its waste disposal franchise system.

With no federal claims left in the action, Judge Elizabeth Kovachevich of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida on Wednesday declined to take pendent jurisdiction over the remaining state claims in a case brought by Danner Construction Co....
