Tyson Foods Hit With FLSA Suit

Law360, New York (February 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Tyson Foods Inc. has become the target of a putative class action brought by Iowa employees who say the meat processing and manufacturing outfit owes them damages for not compensating them for work preparation time essential to performing their jobs.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in federal court in northern Iowa, accuses Tyson of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act by not paying its workers a premium rate for overtime hours or the minimum hour rate for regular hours worked.
