FTC Greenlights Honeywell's $1.4B Sperian Buy

Law360, New York (July 16, 2010, 12:02 PM EDT) -- Honeywell International Inc. announced Friday that it had received the blessing of the Federal Trade Commission to move forward with its plans to acquire French personal protective equipment maker Sperian Protection in a deal valued at $1.4 billion.

The FTC's antitrust clearance for the deal comes after the transaction was already given the go-ahead by the French Ministry of Economy, Industry and Employment under French regulations governing foreign investments, Honeywell said.
