Law360 (July 19, 2010, 4:11 PM EDT) -- Toyota Motor Corp. has reached a settlement with Paice LLC in the U.S. International Trade Commission that puts an end to the companies' patent litigation over hybrid vehicle technology.
Paice announced the agreement with the world's biggest automaker on Monday, just as a hearing was set to begin on its complaint in the U.S. International Trade Commission, which in late June refused to dismiss the case and barred Toyota from challenging the patent-in-suit, U.S. Patent Number 5,343,970.
The patent, titled "Hybrid electric vehicle," teaches and discloses the use of high voltage and low current in hybrid electric vehicles, according to Paice....
