Judge Who Nixed Drilling Ban To Remain On Case

Law360, New York (July 19, 2010, 6:01 PM EDT) -- The federal judge who sank the U.S. government's ban on deepwater drilling has refused to recuse himself from the case despite environmental groups' claims that his investments in energy companies threaten his ability to remain impartial.

Judge Martin Feldman of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on Monday denied a motion by Defenders of Wildlife and several other environmental groups, which intervened as defendants, to pull himself off the high-stakes case.
