Philip Morris Faces Child Labor Investigation

Law360, New York (July 19, 2010, 1:51 PM EDT) -- A U.S. House of Representatives panel is probing the worldwide employment practices of Philip Morris International Inc., which an advocacy group claims contracted with farms that used child labor in Kazakhstan.

Rep. Henry A. Waxman, D-Calif., chair of the House Energy and Commerce committee; and Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich., who chairs its subcommittee on oversight and investigations, asked Philip Morris International CEO Louis C. Camilleri on Friday to produce documents on the company's labor practices.
