Kilpatrick Stockton, Townsend Cease Merger Talks

Law360, New York (July 20, 2010, 7:08 PM EDT) -- Kilpatrick Stockton LLP and Townsend and Townsend and Crew LLP confirmed Tuesday they have called off talks of a potential merger because they were unable to resolve client conflicts.

“We explored merger discussions with our friends at Townsend, but clients always come first,” Bill Dorris, co-managing partner of Kilpatrick Stockton, said in a statement. “When client-related conflicts could not be resolved, we could not proceed further.”
