Rubbermaid Sues Again Over Dispenser Duties

Law360, New York (July 21, 2010, 1:29 PM EDT) -- Rubbermaid Commercial Products LLC has fired off another suit accusing the U.S. government of sticking excessive duties on imports of products for dispensers used to clean restrooms and control odors.

The Winchester, Va.-based company filed a summons in the U.S. Court of International Trade on Tuesday, arguing that U.S. Customs and Border Protection incorrectly classified two dozen dispenser product shipments that entered the U.S. between October 2007 and September 2008, leading to higher tariff rates for Rubbermaid.
