Alcon Recalls Constellation Eye Surgery System

Law360, New York (July 21, 2010, 4:58 PM EDT) -- Alcon Laboratories Inc. has instituted a recall of its Constellation Vision System, an ophthalmic microsurgical system used by eye surgeons, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The company sent an "urgent medical device recall" letter to all of its Constellation Vision System users July 2, the FDA said Tuesday.

A representative for Alcon told Law360 Wednesday that the company was not commenting publicly on the recall.
