CIT Tosses Ford's $6M Suit Over Jaguar Imports

Law360, New York (July 23, 2010, 5:21 PM EDT) -- A judge has thrown out Ford Motor Co.'s suit seeking some $6 million in refunds on shipments of Jaguar-brand cars one day after the automaker filed an emergency bid to prevent U.S. Customs and Border Protection from liquidating disputed import entries representing thousands of automobiles.

In a technical, 25-page ruling issued Thursday in the U.S. Court of International Trade, Judge Gregory W. Carman chopped away at the Dearborn, Mich.-based Ford's claims on jurisdictional and subject matter grounds and then dismissed the suit in its entirety....
