Senate Dems To Introduce Narrower Energy Bill

Law360, New York (July 26, 2010, 11:39 AM EDT) -- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., will introduce a pared-down energy bill this week that holds BP PLC responsible for the Gulf oil spill and includes incentives for converting vehicles to run on natural gas.

Reid announced Thursday that he would abandon the contentious climate control portions of the energy bill in order to pass legislation ahead of the Senate’s month-long recess, which starts Aug. 6. The scaled-down version of the bill is expected to pass before then.
