Prudential Targets Ex-Agent In Contract, Secrets Suit

Law360, New York (July 27, 2010, 4:00 PM EDT) -- Prudential Insurance Co. of America has accused a former agent who accepted a job at a competitor of breaching confidentiality agreements and stealing trade secrets, arguing that he is raiding Prudential's clients to get them to switch their insurance policies.

Prudential filed suit Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa. The insurer also filed a request for a temporary restraining order, asking the court to maintain the status quo while it pursues an arbitration action before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority....
