Sen. Moves To Bar Cap And Trade From Energy Bill

Law360, New York (July 28, 2010, 2:43 PM EDT) -- Sen. Mike Johanns, R-Neb., has introduced legislation that would stop Congress from adding in conference a cap-and-trade scheme to a pared-down energy bill that the Senate took up this week.

The amendment, otherwise known as S.A. 4531 and introduced Tuesday, would prevent a cap-and-trade program from being added to a House-Senate conference bill unless the Senate votes separately on cap and trade.
