House Bill Seeks FLSA Protections For Caregivers

Law360, New York (July 29, 2010, 3:45 PM EDT) -- Rep. Linda Sanchez, D-Calif., has introduced legislation that would extend Fair Labor Standards Act minimum wage and overtime protections to home care workers, a bill she said would result in better direct care services to seniors and people with disabilities.

Sanchez, a co-founder of the labor and working families caucus, introduced H.R. 5902, the Direct Care Workforce Empowerment Act, on Thursday.
