4th Circ. Tosses RICO Suit Over US Airways Merger

Law360, New York (August 3, 2010, 5:19 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has shut down a racketeering suit filed over seniority squabbling between the pilots' unions of the now-merged US Airways Inc. and America West Airlines, upholding a lower court decision.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for Fourth Circuit on Tuesday dismissed the US Airline Pilots Association's suit for failure to state a claim under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.
