Alaska, Mining Groups Join Public Land Claims Spat

Law360, New York (August 4, 2010, 2:55 PM EDT) -- The state of Alaska and two mining associations have been approved to intervene in a suit over Bush administration rules that relaxed mining claim restrictions on public lands, but their participation in the case will be limited.

Judge Henry H. Kennedy Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on Tuesday approved motions filed by Alaska, Northwest Mining Association and Alaska Miners Association, but ordered the mining groups to submit only joint motions with existing intervenors and the state to file briefs only...
