Foskor Avoids Fine In S. Africa Phosphate Price Probe

Law360, New York (August 4, 2010, 4:11 PM EDT) -- The South African Competition Commission said Wednesday that it had settled its case against phosphate producer Foskor over excessive pricing in the phosphoric acid market and would not issue a fine.

The agency said it had entered into a consent agreement under which Foskor agreed not to charge excessive pricing for phosphoric acid and to take measures to increase transparency in the downstream market for fertilizer products.
